Our Approach to Treatment

The goal of our program is to improve outcomes by simultaneously treating the child’s complex medical needs and emotional and behavioral dysregulation.

Treatment begins with comprehensive medical and psychological evaluations conducted by our multidisciplinary team. If needed, a neuropsychological evaluation will be conducted as well.  Our Program Director works in conjunction with Pediatricians, Pediatric Psychologists, Pediatric Neuropsychologists, Pediatric Physical Medicine Physicians and other pediatric specialists. Other interdisciplinary team members include nurses, physical, occupational, speech language and respiratory therapy, along with child life specialists.

Following our evaluations, a formal treatment plan is individualized for every patient to lead to improved functioning and quality of life following discharge. For children with co-morbid mental health difficulties, understanding the etiology of these behaviors and the impact of these difficulties on the patient’s ability to successfully reach their treatment goals is a vital part of the program.

In our program we:

  • Diagnosis and provide ongoing management of medical conditions
  • Evaluate and treat co-morbid mental health difficulties
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs
  • Assist with transitioning home and school re-entry

Primary therapies are offered six days per week.
